How much does a solar system cost?
There is no honest single answer — it depends entirely on how much electricity you use and what your roof looks like. What we can tell you is that most systems we install are cash-flow positive from the first year: the monthly saving is larger than the monthly cost of financing. We give you those numbers in writing after a free site visit, before you commit to anything.
How long does an installation take?
A typical residential installation is on site for three to five days. Commercial projects run from two weeks to a couple of months depending on scale. The longer part is usually permitting and utility interconnection, which we handle for you — expect four to eight weeks from signed contract to switch-on.
What happens in a hurricane?
Every array we install is engineered and anchored for Caribbean wind loads, and we design mounting systems well above code minimums. Systems we installed years ago have come through major storms intact. If you have battery storage, you keep your lights, fridge and fans running through the outage that follows.
Will solar work during a power cut?
A grid-tied system without batteries shuts down during an outage — that is a safety requirement, so that linemen working on the line are not put at risk. If staying powered through outages matters to you, you want battery storage. We will tell you plainly which one your situation calls for.
How much maintenance is involved?
Very little. There are no moving parts in a solar array. An occasional rinse to clear salt and dust, and a professional inspection every year or two, is the whole of it. We offer service plans that take care of it for you.
How long will the system last?
Panels are warrantied for decades and typically still produce over 80% of their original output after 25 years. Power electronics are the shorter-lived part of a system and are usually replaced once in its lifetime. We install to a 30-year standard, which is why certified workmanship matters so much.
Can I still use utility power?
Yes. Almost every system we install stays connected to the grid. Solar carries your load during the day, the grid covers the rest, and the changeover is seamless — you will not notice it happening.
